FOUNDER PLANET IMPACT CAPITAL

Dr. Son Tran is Founder and Managing Partner of Planet Impact Capital (since 2020), an impact fund management company based in Vietnam. He is a serial entrepreneur, angel investor, startup mentor and entrepreneurship lecturer with over 20 years of experience. His main focus of interest is on impact enterprises, typically breakthrough science-technology based startups in early stages of development.

Dr. Son Tran has co-founded MITFive (2015), a startup training and mentorship initiative by MIT alumni in Vietnam. He received PhD in physical chemistry from National University of Science and Technology, Moscow (1988), and MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management (1999). He was awarded “Entrepreneur of the Year” (Vietnam, 2014) by Shidler College of Business, University of Hawaii
